Are You Thankful?

Have you ever stopped to think just how much you have to be thankful for?  Here is a great exercise that you can do!

Complaining is easy. Looking around and seeing everything that is not going the way you’d like for it to be going takes little effort.  Many people spend there days whining and blaming. But all of that is not only a waste of your time, but it is detrimental to your success.  It will do nothing to bring solutions, and in it fact will bring more problems.

What you focus on is what comes into your life.

God designed your mind so that what you focus on is what you will bring into your life.  Some call this the Law of Attraction.  Others call it the Law of Vibration.  Whatever you choose to call it, the Bible simply says, “As he thinks in his heart so is he.”  And, “Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.”

If your mental focus is on your lack, then that is what you will bring into your life - lack.  If your focus is on what you have, and the gratitude to God for His blessings, then that is what you will attract into your life - His blessings!

So what are you supposed to do, be thankful for what you lack?  Be thankful for things that are not right?  Are you supposed to just act like nothing is wrong?  No.

Here is a simple exercise

Here is a simple exercise that will help you.  From the least to the greatest, write down every thing that you can think of that you are thankful for.   Make a list!  You could start with being alive!

Do you have food to eat?  Clothes to wear? A roof over; your head? Just write down everything that you can think of to be thankful for.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to improve your standard of life, but the point here is to remind yourself and recognize what you have right now and then be grateful for it.

This has nothing to do with just settling

This exercise has nothing to do with “just settling” or accepting things the way they are.  This is an exercise in being thankful.  And as I mentioned before, if your focus is on what you have, and the gratitude to God for His blessings, then that is what you will attract into your life - His blessings!

Once you finish your list, make the effort to read it every day, and add to it!  Instead of wasting time and getting no results from looking at what you don’t have, build and develop an attitude of gratitude!
