Monday, January 12, 2008 – A Higher Being?

11:38 am Blog

It seems rather odd to me that if you are trying to believe in a “Higher Being,” that would mean searching to find something spiritual that is outside of yourself.  How in the world can you do that by getting in touch with your own spirituality?

(The information on this web site, NOW MORE THAN EVER, will be of great help for those who want to live a dynamic life and get real results. It is for those who want to stop living with worries and fears and instead live life to its fullest!

A Higher Being?

Yesterday a friend of mine gave me a brochure that he picked up at a chiropractors office.  Knowing some of the things that I do, he thought I would find interesting.  And I did.

It is a brochure about having a positive mental attitude.  And as I read through it there were a lot of good points and some really good suggestions.  In fact, a number of the principles in the brochure could be easily documented from the Bible.

No, I’m not disappointed that they didn’t mention the Bible.  I’m sure you know that I am a fan of the Bible, but I am not into pushing it down people’s throats.  However, I do know that truth is truth, no matter who says it or how they say it.

But there was one point on the brochure that I didn’t much care for.  The topic was, “Believe in a Higher Being.”   That paragraph was very vague and ended with encouraging people to get in touch with their spirituality.

It seems rather odd to me that if you are trying to believe in a “Higher Being,” that would mean searching to find something spiritual that is outside of yourself.  How in the world can you do that by getting in touch with your own spirituality?

I’m not trying to be critical.  But honestly, is there not enough obvious evidence that there is indeed a God Who created this world?  Did everything just happen to come together by itself in this marvelous world that we live in?

I guess it is too hard to just say, “Believe in God.”  Maybe that would turn some people off who might read the brochure.  But it seems to me that, “Believe in God,” is a broad enough statement that those very few who do not believe in God wouldn’t mind, and would be encouraging to the many who do believe in God.

Choose to have a great day!

Mike
