Where Is Your Trust?

The Bible talks about not trusting in uncertain riches.  Hello!  We don’t trust in how much our house is worth, or how much value we have in stocks.  That should be pretty obvious today, shouldn’t it?

Most of the time when people quote that verse (which is in I Timothy Chapter 6) they are speaking of the evils of money and riches.  Yet the Bible does not say that money is evil – it says that the love of money is the root of all evil.

So trusting and having confidence in your money could then easily turn into loving it.  Don’t!

On the other hand, God does not want you poor!  What kind of a testimony is it for God to be living in poverty and want, and proclaiming, “I love God and He loves me!”

The Bible talks about God supplying all our need.  The Bible talks about the righteous not being forsaken and not begging for bread.  The Bible talks about God making all grace abound to you so that you always have all sufficiency in all things.  It is never the will of God for His children to lack in any category!

The verse I was talking about earlier says, “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, Who gives us richly all things to enjoy;”

If it was wrong to be rich or wealthy then God would have said, “Tell the rich folks to give all their money away and be poor like the rest of us!”  But He didn’t say that.  They were instead instructed to not be high minded, and not to trust in uncertain riches, but instead trust in the living God Who gives richly!

In the good times and in the not so good times; in the years of plenty and in the years of not so plenty;  during an up trend, and during a down trend, we can always choose to trust in the living God Who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

Many people have been so disappointed and let down from things that they were trusting in.  Many just do not know what they are going to do.  The answer is God!  His bank isn’t busted!

Safety is in the Lord.  Deliverance from fear is from the Lord.  Abundance and prosperity is from the Lord.  The Bible says trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding – in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.

One way that you could acknowledge Him is whenever you spend your money, stop and remind yourself to trust in God.  In God I trust!  It’s just a small thing, but nonetheless it will help you to continue to build a trust in God to supply all that you need.
